Space Arcade Games does not set any cookies today. This page explains what that means in practice, how the site uses a related browser technology called localStorage to remember your scores and settings, and what would change if advertising is added in the future.

What cookies are
A cookie is a small piece of text that a website asks your browser to store and then send back to the web server with later requests. Cookies are commonly used to keep people signed in, remember items in a shopping cart, measure visits with analytics tools and show or measure advertising. Cookies set by the site you are visiting are called first-party cookies; cookies set by another company's domain, such as an ad network, are called third-party cookies.
Cookies on this site today
Today the site sets no cookies, first-party or third-party. There is no login to remember, no shopping cart, and no analytics or advertising script running. The site also loads no external fonts, scripts or embedded widgets, so no other company's cookies are set through our pages.
Your browser may still hold cookies from other websites you visit; those are controlled by those sites, not by us. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, which are described in our privacy policy; server logs are not cookies.
localStorage: not cookies, but similar technology
To remember your personal bests and preferences, the site uses localStorage, part of the Web Storage feature built into browsers. It is similar to cookies in that it stores small amounts of data on your device for a specific website, and privacy laws often treat it in the same family of "cookies and similar technologies." It differs in important ways:

The keys the site uses are sag_bestScores, sag_recentGames, sag_favoriteGames, sag_soundPreference, sag_themePreference and sag_dailyScores. Each one is explained in the localStorage table in our privacy policy. This storage is strictly functional: it exists only so the games can show your personal best, keep your favorites and remember whether you prefer sound on and light or dark mode.

Managing and clearing stored data
- Use the Clear my saved data button on the privacy policy page to remove all Space Arcade Games keys from your current browser.
- Clear "site data" or "cookies and site data" for spacearcadegames.xyz in your browser settings. Most browsers group localStorage with cookies in these settings.
- Use a private or incognito window if you do not want anything kept after you close it.
Clearing this data resets your personal bests, favorites and settings on that browser. It does not affect the games themselves.
Future advertising cookies (Google AdSense)
The site has been prepared so that Google AdSense advertising and an analytics tool could be added later. None of it is active today. If it is switched on:
- We will update this cookie policy and the privacy policy to describe the cookies and similar technologies involved.
- Where the law requires consent, for example for visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, we will ask for it before non-essential cookies are set, using a consent mechanism. For personalized AdSense ads this means a Google-certified consent management platform.
- Google and its partners may then use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites.

Future analytics
If an analytics tool is added, it would be used to understand things like which games are played and which pages are hard to find. We will name the tool, describe any cookies or storage it uses and apply consent where required before it runs.
